Welcome to the website maintained by Volkswagen AG, Berliner Ring 2, 38440 Wolfsburg, bb-database@volkswagen.de, listed in the commercial register of the District Court of Braunschweig under HRB 100484 (“Volkswagen AG”). We would like to inform you about how your data is collected, processed and used in the section below.

 

B. General Information

It is perfectly possible to visit Volkswagen AG websites without giving us any information about your identity. In this case, we will only automatically collect the following log data:

  1. an anonymous cookie ID, which does not allow your IP address to be identified,
  2. the operating system and web browser you are using, and your selected screen resolution,
  3. The date and time of your visit
  4. The webpages you visit on our website
  5. The website from which you visited us

Unless otherwise specified in the following, your data is processed solely by Volkswagen AG.

 

C. Collecting, processing and using your personal data

I. Queries about VW Customized Solution services

This website allows you to submit Customized Solution queries using VW systems and using Volkswagen Commercial Vehicle email accounts. Your personal data will be collected, processed and/or used only if you transmit it to us willingly, for example for the purposes of initiating, specifying the content of or amending a contractual relationship between yourself and us, registering for personalised services or submitting a query via our partner contact form. In order to process your query, the following personal data may be required: your surname, first name, address, email address, vehicle-specific data (e.g. vehicle identification number). These data will be forwarded to internal departments, order data processors, contractors or second stage manufacturers when necessary. We use the data specified in this context solely for the purpose of providing this service in accordance with your consent (Article 6 (1) (a) GDPR). You may withdraw your consent in relation to Volkswagen AG at any time and free of charge with immediate effect using the following website: https://www.datenschutz.volkswagen.de/?lang=en. The data collected will be deleted once the processing of your case is completed, provided that it is not subject to other retention requirements (e.g. for tax purposes).

II. Declaration of consent for advertising and market research

This website also offers the option of ordering information about training courses, advertisements and market research in the log-in area (as a registered user). We only use the data specified in this context (email address and surname, first name) for the purpose of providing this service in accordance with your consent (Article 6 (1) (a) GDPR). You may withdraw your consent in relation to Volkswagen AG at any time, free of charge, and with future effect. You can do so using your user profile in the Conversion portal under “Unsubscribe”, or by using the following website: https://www.datenschutz.volkswagen.de/?lang=en. Sending the information or the newsletter involves assigning an order data processor.

III. Targeted advertising (Targeting)

Volkswagen AG produces pseudonymised user profiles for the purposes of targeted advertisements (in accordance with § 15 Par. 3 of the German Teleservices Act). This enables online campaigns to be used to good advantage in a targeted manner. Pseudonymisation refers to the replacement of the name and other identifying features with an indicator in order to make it considerably more difficult or impossible for a third party to identify the person concerned. Cookies are used for this purpose. Cookies are small files containing configuration information and are saved on your computer. The cookie tracks information about your activities on the website in question (for example, your browsing habits, which pages you visit, which ad banners you click on, etc.). Most web browsers automatically accept cookies by default. You can prevent the creation of a pseudonymised user profile at any time with immediate effect by changing your browser settings so that no cookies, or only certain cookies, are accepted or so that you are notified as soon as cookies are transmitted. IV. Calculation of CO2 values in modified vehicles

You can calculate vehicle-specific WLTP values using VW systems by logging on to this website. The following personal data is collected during this process: vehicle identification number (VIN), reference number and commissioning number. We only use the data in this context to provide this service in line with the fulfilment of legal obligations pursuant to regulation (EU) 1151/2017 EC (Article 6 (1) (c) GDPR). The data collected will be deleted once the processing of your case is completed, provided that it is not subject to other retention requirements (e.g. for tax purposes).

 

D. Your Rights

You may assert the following rights in relation to Volkswagen AG at any time without cost. You can obtain further information about asserting your rights in section E.

Right of access: You are entitled to access information from us about how we process your personal data.

Right of rectification: You are entitled to request us to rectify any of your personal data that may be incorrect or incomplete.

Right of erasure: If any of the requirements specified in Art. 17 GDPR are met, you are entitled to ask us to delete your data. For example, you can ask us to delete your data if it is no longer needed for the purpose for which it was collected. You can also request that your data be deleted if we process your data on the basis of your consent and you then revoke this consent.

Right to limit processing: You have the right to demand processing of your data be limited, if the prerequisites of Section 18 of the GDPR are satisfied. For example, this could be the case if you dispute the correctness of your data. You can then request processing be restricted while we check whether your data is correct.

Right to object: You have the right to object to your data being processed if it is being processed for an overriding interest or for the purposes of direct advertising. An objection is permitted if processing is performed in either the public interest or for the exercise of public authority or if it is performed for a legitimate interest of Volkswagen AG or a third party. If you object to data processing, please specify the reasons why you object to data processing. You also have the right to object to data processing for the purposes of direct advertising. The same applies to profiling, provided this is related to direct advertising.

Right to data portability: If a data processing activity is based on consent or the execution of a contract and takes place in an automatic process, you are entitled to receive your data in structured, conventional and machine-readable format and to then send this to another data processor.

Right of withdrawal: Provided data processing is based on you providing consent, you have the right to withdraw that consent to the processing of your personal data free of charge at any time, effective going forward.

Right to complain: You are also entitled to complain about our processing of your data by contacting a supervisory authority (e.g. the Data Protection Commissioner for the State of Lower Saxony).
